Leeds hooker Danny Buderus says he hopes to be fit enough to make his debut for the Rhinos in two weeks time.
The former Australia captain tore his bicep in August while still playing for NRL side Newcastle Knights.
Buderus told BBC Radio Leeds: "We went to Florida two weeks ago so that was my first initiation with the boys and training in the main group.
"I've been doing rehab with a few of the other guys but hopefully now I'm just a couple of weeks away."
Buderus will definitely miss the Rhinos' Super League season-opener against Celtic Crusaders on Friday, but is still hoping to get a couple of games under his belt before the World Club Challenge against Manly on 1 March.
"I'm at the stage now where I'm going into the sixth month of a six-month injury so it's up to myself and how I'm feeling and whether I'm up to the rigours of a game of football," said Buderus.
"I want to have a couple of games before I go into a game of that importance and significance.
"I don't want to put pressure on myself but I've got to play well at the start just to convince the fans and the players that they're heading in the right direction," he added.
