Gibson needs a full knee construction |
Leeds winger Ashley Gibson has been ruled out for the rest of the season after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament against the Catalans Dragons. A scan revealed the 20-year-old England international will need an entire reconstruction of his knee.
"Hopefully we can get it done as soon as possible," he said.
"It is obviously disappointing, especially as I had gained a place in the team this season, but I am young and have faith in the medical team."
Head Coach Tony Smith expressed his sympathy, but said hopefully Gibson's youth would help his recovery.
"We are all disappointed for Ashley because he had worked hard this season and deserved his place in the starting line up," he told the club website.
"However, he has got time on his side and I am sure he will come back stronger than ever from this set back."
