Senior has scored 123 tries during his time with Leeds |
Leeds centre Keith Senior is set to finish his international career after the visit of the New Zealand tourists in November. The 30-year-old, who played in the first-ever Super League game in 1998, begins his four-month testimonial on Friday against Huddersfield Giants.
"I want to go out on a high and I see the Test series against the Kiwis as a good way to bow out," he said.
"The 2008 World Cup in Australia might be a bridge too far."
Senior made his Great Britain debut against Fiji in Nadi in 1996 and won his 30th cap in the defeat to Australia in Brisbane last November.
"I see it as a great milestone to reach 30 caps," said Senior, who overtook Lions greats Alex Murphy, Neil Fox and Roger Millward during the Tri-Nations.
With four Tests to come this year, he has a chance to leapfrog Martin Offiah and former Leeds and Sheffield team-mate Daryl Powell into fifth place in the all-time list.
The pre-season friendly against Huddersfield will be played in partnership with Giants full-back Paul Reilly, who is also celebrating his testimonial.
But unlike Reilly, who will retire at the end of the season, Senior has no intention of hanging up his boots yet.
"I've two years left at Leeds and then I'll take it year by year depending on the body," he said.
"It's been superb. It's a short career and you are a long time retired so you have to enjoy every minute of it.
"My goal is to remain a regular first teamer for at least the next two years."
