Leeds coach Tony Smith has insisted the club will not make a panic buy to cover injured hooker Matt Diskin. Diskin will miss the start of the season with a knee injury, and Leeds have been linked with several players as potential replacements.
"We're weighing up our options, but we won't be rushed into it," Smith told the Yorkshire Evening Post newspaper.
"If someone becomes available, great. But I'm not too concerned if we start the season without signing somebody."
Diskin damaged his knee ligaments just 17 minutes into his Great Britain debut in November, and could be out for six months.
The 22-year-old had an outstanding season as Leeds won their first title in 32 years, and scored a crucial try in the Rhinos' Grand Final victory over Bradford.
But Smith said he would not be pressured into signing a player to make up the numbers.
"The big thing about bringing anyone into this place is making sure they are the right person," he said.
"We are not going to go out and buy someone for the sake of it and then find out they are not right."
Leeds have left one spot in their senior squad vacant for the forthcoming season.
