Matt Diskin is revelling in the chance to play for Great Britain, but said his club captain Kevin Sinfield was "extremely unlucky" not to be selected. The Leeds hooker, one of six Rhinos in the squad for the Tri-Nations, said: "For all the Leeds boys, it's great.
"We're all debutants, we haven't been selected before, so it's going to be a whole new experience for us."
But Diskin said of Sinfield: "He's been absolutely great for us this year - a great leader, extremely inspirational."
"I'll probably speak to him over the next couple of days. It's not for me to comment on how he will be feeling, it will be hard for him.
"But he's a big character and I'm sure he'll react in a positive way."
Diskin is joined in the 24-man squad by Leeds team-mates Danny McGuire, Chev Walker, Ryan Bailey, Danny Ward and Keith Senior.
And he is aware that coach Brian Noble could theoretically select an all-Rhinos front row to take on the Kangaroos.
"There's a chance of that and it would be nice," said Diskin, whose man-of-the-match performance in Saturday's Grand Final win over the Bulls clinched his call-up.
