Fozzard set to return for Hull KR

Nick Fozzard
Fozzard joined on a two-year deal

Hull Kingston Rovers veteran forward Nick Fozzard is in line for a first-team recall against his former club St Helens at Craven Park on Sunday.

He was left out of the Robins side that were winners at Castleford last time out but is set to return according to Rovers coach Justin Morgan.

He told BBC Radio Humberside: "It's obvious that he'd like to play against them - his former club.

"He's trained well and trained with intensity and and he has a big chance."

Fozzard joined the Robins from St Helens on a two-year contract at the start of the season but latterly has been in and out of the side and was left out of the team by Morgan, Rhys Morgan preferred to the former Great Britain prop forward at the Jungle.

However, the KR coach believes it could be the right time to recall Fozzard. He added, "He's determined to put his best foot forward and what I've seen so far has been very encouraging."

One player that will not feature against the Super League leaders is loose forward Scott Murrell. He will sit out a couple of matches because of a sore foot.

Morgan commented, "There's no bone damage or ligament damage to Scottie's foot but it's still very painful and sore and he's been playing with it for a couple of games.

"The rest will do him a lot of good and he'll come back 100% fit and ready for the last couple of games of the season and the play-offs to follow."
