Hull Kingston Rovers captain Mick Vella is to have a scan to determine the extent of a knee injury picked up during the 13-13 draw at Bradford. The former Australian international prop will miss the Robins' home game against Leeds on Friday night and could be out for up to a month. Rovers coach Justin Morgan told BBC Radio Humberside: "He's got a medial ligament strain. "We're not sure how bad it is and we're disappointed, but we'll soldier on." Vella limped out of the draw at the Grattan Stadium midway through the first half and did not return to the action. He will have the injury scanned later in the week once the initial swelling has subsided. Morgan added: "It must be fairly bad if he couldn't return and it means everybody is going to have to take up the slack." | Mick Vella is not a replaceable type of person Hull KR coach Justin Morgan | As well as missing Vella for the game against Leeds, the Robins may also be without former Great Britain centre Chev Walker. He has been charged with striking an opponent during the game against Bradford by the Rugby Football League. Walker will appear before a disciplinary panel on Tuesday night and if found guilty he could be banned for anything up to three games. It means Morgan may have to ponder his options for the visit of the Rhinos to Craven Park for the Red and Whites' first home game of the Super League XIV season, but he says there are plenty of players in contention. He added: "Scott Wheldon didn't play (on Sunday) and Jason Netherton didn't play and neither did Liam Watts, so we've got some stock there but Mick Vella is not a replaceable type of person."
