Hull KR have signed Ryan Esders on a one-year deal from National League Two side York City Knights.

The 21-year-old centre or second-rower, who came through Rovers' youth ranks, has been an ever-present for the Knights since joining in 2006.

"Being a Hull lad, I have always wanted to play for Rovers," said Esders, who was named York's young player of the year for 2007.

"I am very grateful for this fantastic opportunity," he added.
