Chester has played just three times this season |
Super League side Hull Kington Rovers are mystified by the calf injury that continues to dog Chris Chester. The back rower has not played since mid-February and was forced to pull out of Sunday's Challenge Cup tie at Workington Town just before kick-off. Rovers coach Justin Morgan said: "He passed all the tests on his calf but it felt a bit sore in the warm-up. "We'll get the medical staff to have a look at it but poor Chezzie is a bit disillusioned at the moment." The England international and former Halifax, Wigan and Hull FC playmaker has not played since sustaining a calf muscle tear during the victory over the Catalans Dragons. | It's not in the same spot as the original injury so that's a little bit baffling and he's been unlucky again Hull KR coach Justin Morgan |
Chester has been on the brink of making a return several times, only to fall short at the last moment, and Morgan says the cause of the injury is proving hard to nail down. He added: "We just didn't want to risk it and he had no problem with his acceleration but he just had a little bit of an uneasy feeling in the calf. "It's not in the same spot as the original injury so that's a little bit baffling and he's been unlucky again."
