Hull FC coach Richard Agar unsure on Calderwood future
Calderwood has a history of hamstring problems
Hull FC winger Mark Calderwood faces an uncertain future with the club after it was revealed his latest injury will sideline him for the season.
Calderwood, 28, suffered a hamstring tear during his first game back from a similar injury to his other leg.
Coach Richard Agar told BBC Radio Humberside: "He's snapped some tendons at the back [of the leg] and it looks like his season's over.
"We're waiting to see if the specialist thinks surgery is in his best favour."
Calderwood has suffered numerous hamstring problems during his career whilst this latest setback is his fourth injury to that particular area of the body in the last 12 months.
The former England international is out-of-contract at the end of the current season and whilst Agar would not confirm that Calderwood had played his last game for the Black and Whites, he did admit any decision made will have to be in the best interests of the club.
"We could wait and let nature take its course and rehabilitate him back.
We'll get the full picture of his injury and decide the outcome after that

"But we don't need to make any decisions on it just yet as Calders is probably feeling down enough about the whole situation," said Agar.
He added: "After a good pre-season, his season's just been ruined with injury but we'll get the full picture of his injury, have a look at the length of time it's going to take to rehabilitate him and decide the outcome after that."
