Hull hooker Danny Houghton has been tipped for future international honours |
Hull FC hooker Danny Houghton has signed a new two-year contract that is set to keep him at the club until the end of 2012. The 21-year-old's previous deal at the KC Stadium was due to run out at the end of the current campaign. "To be offered another two-year deal is fantastic and I am determined to repay the faith shown in me," he said. "I was brought up here, it is where I want to be and I want to be here as long as I can be." The Hull academy product added: "As a boy it was always my dream to play for Hull - it was all I ever wanted to do - and to realise that when I signed my first pro deal was amazing." Houghton, who signed his first professional contract with the Airlie Birds in 2006 as an 18-year-old, has played 72 first-team games. He has progressed under the tutelage of Australia international number nine Shaun Berrigan and benefitted from a run of games in place of the injured former Brisbane Broncos star.
