Tansey is targeting a win in his first all-Hull derby game against Hull KR |
New Hull FC signing Jordan Tansey wants to mark his first derby for the club against Hull KR with a win on Saturday. Tansey, who joined on a permanent basis two weeks ago after leaving Australian side Sydney Roosters, will line up at full-back for the Black and Whites. He told BBC Radio Humberside: "I can't wait because I've heard so much about these games. "I have played in Leeds/Bradford derbies but everyone says these games are much bigger." The 22-year-old made his debut last week in the win over Celtic Crusaders at the KC Stadium and he is hoping to play his part in a famous win over their Red and White foe. | We all know we need to get some more points to get in the play-offs so we're all lifted and pumped especially for the derby |
"Hull KR are playing great football at the moment and deserve to be fourth at the moment," he said. "So going over to their place is going to be tough but all the lads are up for it." The former Leeds Rhinos youngster believes a win is vital for their own play-off aspirations come the end of the regular season. "We know we are the underdogs," he added. "But we all know we need to get some more points to get in the play-offs so we're all lifted and pumped especially for the derby." There is full coverage of Hull KR versus Hull FC on BBC Radio Humberside 95.9 FM, 1485 AM, DAB and online at www.bbc.co.uk/humberside from 1700 BST on Saturday.
