Paul King played for the first time since breaking a foot 11 months ago |
Mike Burnett scored a hat-trick of tries as Hull FC went down to a 32-26 defeat at National League Dewsbury in a pre-season friendly. Jamie Thackray and Craig Hall also touched down and Hull coach Richard Agar said the game was a useful one. He told BBC Radio Humberside: "I was pleased with the effort of some of our senior players. "I'd have rather it been in better conditions but we got some valuable game time out of some of the blokes." Snow fell throughout the game at the Rams Stadium, making life hard for both teams, and Agar resisted the temptation to field a host of first-team regulars against the National League part-timers. However, he did hand a run-out to Paul King, who played for the first time since breaking his foot, which required surgery to fix, early last season. And the Black and Whites coach was pleased with his performance and that of Thackray. Agar said: "I thought they carried us forward well during the second half but it wasn't the day for too much flowing football and the skill levels weren't particularly great."
