Prop Paul King has ended speculation over his future by signing a new two-year contract with Hull FC.

The 29-year-old forward has spent his entire career with his hometown club having made his debut at the age of 17.

"Everyone knows I am black and white through and through and getting this new deal is fantastic news," said King, currently sidelined with a broken foot.

"I have never wanted to play for another club and I believe I still have plenty to offer the club."

Hull chief executive James Rule told BBC Radio Humberside he is delighted the player has agreed to stay with them.

"Paul's a rarity in the modern game, having spent his entire career with Hull FC," said Rule.

"He's hugely passionate when he pulls on the Black and Whites shirt which the fans appreciate and so do we."

King's season was cut short due to a serious foot injury sustained during the 28-28 draw against the Catalans Dragons in March.

However, having been with the club since he was 17 and celebrating his testimonial season with them last year, Rule said it is vital they ensure the future of locally-produced talent in their squad.

"As everybody's aware the quota for overseas players is coming down year-on-year and the stipulation for internally developed players coming through the ranks in your own systems is becoming more and more prevalant.

"Paul, having been here since he was a teenager, ticks that box and that's another factor when you're looking at the strategic long-term planning of your squad."

King follows Ewan Dowes, Craig Hall, Lee Radford, Tommy Lee, Tom Briscoe, Danny Tickle and Willie Manu in committing to the club.

Hull have also secured two new signings for 2009 in Dominic Maloney and Michael Crocker.

Uncertainty, however, still remains over the future of another prop in Garreth Carvell.

The 28-year-old penned a new deal earlier this month only to claim he made a mistake 24 hours later.
