Tickle joins Willie Manu in committing his future to Hull |
Hull forward Danny Tickle has signed a new two-year contract which will keep him at the KC Stadium until the end of the 2010 season. The former Halifax back-row, who turns 25 on Tuesday, joined from Wigan two years ago and was Hull's player of the year last season. "This is a great birthday present for me and was one of the easiest decisions I have had to make," said Tickle. "There were rumours of other clubs being interested but I am happy here." Tickle, who has scored 294 points in 40 appearances for Hull, added: "I've committed myself for two years and hopefully at the end of that we will still be happy and I can get another contract because I like it over here and don't want to go anywhere else." Second row Willie Manu also signed a new deal last week and coach Peter Sharp said he was delighted to keep both at the KC Stadium. "Both Danny and Willie are important members of the squad and provide us with a lot of quality and variation in what they can do," he said. "I'm delighted Danny has agreed this deal."
