Brown steered the Giants to third in Super League last season

Huddersfield Giants head coach Nathan Brown is happy with progress after his side chalked up a 28-10 pre-season win against Castleford Tigers.

Luke Robinson, Shaun Lunt and Lee Gilmour, Paul Ehatuira and Josh Griffin all scored tries.

New signings David Fa'alogo, Lee Gilmour, Scott Grix and Graeme Horne debuted for the Giants and impressed their new coach.

"We think we're a bit more advanced than last year," said Brown.

He added: "It was only a trial but it looks positive at this stage.

"We've brought in some classy players and we like to think that all our players have improved in some way."

Huddersfield kick off their Super League XV season with a home against against Bradford Bulls on February 5 at the Galpharm Stadium.
