Huddersfield Giants have signed former Gateshead centre Jamie Cording on a one-year part-time deal. The 20-year-old will train with the Giants as he looks to secure a permanent deal at the Galpharm. The former Castleford played, who can operate at back-row or centre, has targeted breaking into the Giants' first team. "I want to work hard in pre-season and hopefully prove that I'm worthy of a full-time contract," he said. "It's a massive opportunity that Huddersfield have given me and I intend to take it with both hands. "I'd love to play a couple of first team games but at the moment I just want to get my head down and try to improve. | 606: DEBATE |
"I can play either back-row or centre; I'd probably consider myself as a bit more of a back-rower with speed and a decent pair of hands." Giants head of youth performance Damian McGrath added of the former Featherstone Lions and Gateshead player: "His availability has given us the chance to take a closer look at a player who has all the attributes to prosper."
