Castleford Tigers have given full-time contracts to Junior Academy players Jonathan Walker and Jamie Cording. Chief executive Richard Wright said: "They are young players who, if they work hard, have the potential to become Super League players. "They will be training full time and ready to step into the senior squad if called on," he told the club website. Walker, 17, joined Cas from Bradford Victoria Gladiators, while Cording, 18, came from Featherstone Lions. Walker was named Junior Academy player of the year and Cording the most improved player at this season's awards dinner. "They have earned the opportunity," added Wright. "Both have had impressive seasons."
