Former dual-code Wales international Jonathan Davies expects the Celtic Crusaders to gain strength from their first win in Super League.
"It's fantastic... people were talking about will they go the season without winning a game, so now they've got that monkey off their back," Davies said.
"They realise now what they can do, although it's still going to be tight.
"If they can finish anything other than bottom, I think it'll be a good start to their first season."
The Crusaders have come close to breaking their duck several times this season, holding St Helens 4-0 at the Brewery Field, while a last-gasp try at Warrington saw them lose 22-27.
But on Sunday, Crusaders put in a backs-to-the-wall effort to take the notable scalp of Bradford Bulls 30-24 at the Gratton Stadium.
"It's a huge morale boost... to actually get that first result will be a fantastic boost for the players, the management and the supporters," Davies told BBC Sport Wales.
"And now they've got to build on it, they can't just rest on their laurels now they've got the win.
"Now they've got to analyse how they won it and then improve.
"Everyone would have thought their first win would have come at home.
"Bradford have had an up-and-down season: they lost against Catalans in the Challenge Cup when they were 26-0 up, then they come back and beat Leeds and St Helens in consecutive weeks.
"So they're [Crusaders] capable of beating anyone really, they were close against St Helens... they've just got to get things right on the day and not make silly errors.
"If they cut those silly errors out they can win more matches."
Davies understands that it has been a huge step up from the Crusaders into Super League after being awarded a three-year franchise.
John Dixon, the coach of the Bridgend-based side, did strengthen his squad in the off-season but has also kept faith with many of the players who served him well in the lower leagues.
"That's the difference, when you come from National League their footballing ability can get them out of trouble," Davies added.
"Whereas if they make mistakes it's not as easy in Super League.
"There's a lot of areas I've seen this year, like the defence - they get sloppy now and again - the kicking game has got to be a little bit sharper.
"So if they can do those basic things, it's like an arm-wrestle and they get the result and it's just great that they've got their first win.
"It's great for the fans, they've got a hard-core set of fans there but they need more through the gates.
"The Welsh fans are used to a level of success and now Crusaders have got this win, they've got Wigan and Warrington coming up at home as well.
"So the big names are still to come down and if Crusaders get results and on a bit of a roll, well hopefully more [fans] will come through the gates."
Former Great Britain star Davies played three seasons for Warrington during his time in the 13-man game, but he says there will be no split loyalties when the Wolves are at the Brewery Field door.
"None at all," Davies said. "It's one of those things that Crusaders are a Welsh-based club and I'll be supporting the Welsh."
