Bosc was only appointed Catalans captain late last month |
Catalans Dragons have been hit by the double blow of losing captain Thomas Bosc and second row Jamal Fakir to injury on the eve of the new season. Scrum-half Bosc is facing a month on the sidelines after suffering an ankle injury in training. And a hamstring injury will keep Fakir out of Sunday's opening game of the season at Wakefield. France international and former Wakefield second row Olivier Elima will lead Catalans in Bosc's absence. Catalans coach Kevin Walters said: "Thomas rolled his ankle in a drill we were doing. "He'll be around a month, which is disappointing for the club and for Thomas, but we're hoping Jamal will only be a week or two."
