Castleford Tigers have signed forward Clark Thompson from Normanton Knights.

The Tigers beat off competition from several other Super League clubs for the 17-year-old's signature.

Thompson will go into the Tigers' academy squad for next season, working under their coach Dean Sampson.

The Tigers have also given a new contract to full-back Sam Lynch, who also joined the club from Normanton Knights juniors and featured for the under-18s last season.
