Castleford Tigers have signed New Zealand star Motu Tony from the Brisbane Broncos. Motu, who can play half back, full back or hooker, made his Test debut as a 19-year-old and has three caps.
Motu, as a Western Samoan, is a non-quota player, and is expected to play against the London Broncos on 28 May.
Tony said: "I'm really looking forward to the challenge at Castleford and hope that I can make a contribution to lifting them up the table."
The 22-year-old joined the Broncos last year after spending three successful seasons with the New Zealand Warriors.
The Tigers chief executive Richard Wright said: "Motu is a great acquisition. He is a current New Zealand international, only 22 with a great reputation in the NRL and can certainly be the catalyst to change our season.

"I am sure that our fans will be pleased with this news and will look forward to seeing him in a Tigers shirt. We are lucky that Brisbane agreed to release Motu at this stage of the season. His contract is for the rest of this season and we have an option to sign him for next year."
Caretaker coach Gary Mercer said: "We have signed a top quality player in Motu. As soon as I knew that he could be available I earmarked him as a player who could do a great job for the Tigers.
"He is tough, has plenty of pace and is an elusive runner. I am really looking forward to his arrival. He will prove a top class signing for the club."
Tony added: "Playing in the UK is something that I have always planned to do and I'm looking forward to getting over there."
