Bradford Bulls have recalled winger Dave Halley from his spell with Wakefield but have allowed prop forward Matt James to rejoin Halifax on loan. Halley, 22, could play for the Bulls against Catalans Dragons on Saturday. Bradford coach Steve McNamara said: "We feel the time is right for both the club and Dave for him to return to the Bulls squad." James, also 22, began the season at the Shay Stadium but the Bulls recalled him to cover for injuries. With Andy Lynch and Jamie Langley back in action, McNamara did not need James against Hull last weekend and he has moved back to the Championship side. "We feel it is right for Matt to get some regular first-team football," McNamara explained. "It was always our intention, if the injury situation allowed, for Matt to return to Halifax where he will get a lot of experience in a tough competition." | Dave was marvellous while he was here and will have a big future in the game Wakefield coach John Kear |
The Bulls have taken just one point from their opening four games in Super League XIV. And although they agreed to extend Halley's loan spell with the Wildcats after he scored four tries in his first month at Belle Vue, they have now exercised their right to bring him back at short notice. Halley missed Wakefield's win over Catalans Dragons on Sunday with a dead leg but he could face the French side this Saturday with Bradford, who go to Perpignan seeking their first win.
