Morrison faces three months in leg brace |
Bradford Bulls back-row forward Glenn Morrison will miss the rest of the season with a serious knee injury. A specialist confirmed that the Australian had both torn a muscle and broken part of his kneecap during the 30-14 defeat by Leeds Rhinos in May. Morrison now faces an operation and three months in a leg brace. The 32-year-old said: "I just thought I'd got a bad cork. It was pretty sore but there was no-one left on the bench so I stuck it out." "It is disappointing but the one positive is I'm signed next year," he added. "Hopefully I'll be right for a big off-season, which I didn't get this time, and ready for a big 2009." | 606: DEBATE |
Coach Steve McNamara said: "We're all just really devastated for Glenn more than anything and he's understandably absolutely gutted. "How he managed to carry on playing with that injury shows just what sort of an amazing character he is. It's unbelievable really. "It turned out he didn't sleep for four nights due to the pain. He tried to do everything he could to get back for last week's match and was going to hold his hand up again but we suspected there was something more sinister going on." "It's another situation we've got to deal with but we will get on and do that," added McNamara, whose side have lost their last three games.
