Bai has been in good form this year |
Papua New Guinea winger Marcus Bai will be the oldest player in Super League next season after agreeing a new one-year deal with Bradford. Bai, who turns 34 next month, will take over the mantle from Castleford's 38-year-old Brad Davis, who has joined the coaching staff of union side Bath.
Bai joined the Bulls from Leeds a year ago and was named back of the year this week after 12 tries in 23 games.
"Age is no barrier with this bloke," said coach Steve McNamara.
"He is just getting stronger and stronger so we're delighted he has decided to stay.
"The contribution Marcus has made on and off the park is invaluable and he is one of the most respected players in the competition."
Bai added: "I'm happy to be staying next year and happy to be wanted by Bradford. They are one of the best clubs in Super League.
"I did think this would be my last year but Steve seemed to think the other way. I'll be giving everything I have this year and next, hopefully giving something back."
