Brent Webb has run in five tries in 12 league appearances this season |
Leeds full-back Brent Webb has lost his appeal against a two-game ban for a reckless tackle on Mick Higham during Friday's 26-16 victory over Warrington. The decisions means that Webb will miss Sunday's Super League derby at Bradford and the Challenge Cup quarter-final at home to Wigan on Saturday week. The punishment was upheld at an Rugby Football League Disciplinary Committee appeal hearing at Red Hall on Thursday. Webb was issued with a formal caution over a grapple tackle on Lee Briers. Catalans Dragons prop David Ferriol was suspended for one game at the same initial hearing. He punched Hull's Danny Washbrook during their 28-14 defeat on Saturday. Hull FC prop Ewan Dowes escaped a ban for running in and punching Ferriol in the same incident. All three players have been fined £300 each by the Rugby Football League.
