Harlequins and Wakefield shared the points in an entertaining draw at the Twickenham Stoop on Saturday. Quins went into the break with a 16-10 lead, thanks to tries from Scott Hill, Andy Smith and Paul Sykes, but Waine Pryce's try brought the scores level.
Hopkins put Quins ahead again, but Matt Blaymire's second try of the match ensured the Wildcats got back on terms.
There were five attempted drop-goals in a tense final 10 minutes, but neither side could hit the mark.
The draw ensured Quins ended the Easter period with five points from a possible six, while Wakefield were glad to end their two-match losing run.
Harlequins coach Brian McDermott:
"I won't be too hard on the players, bearing in mind the hectic schedule they have had. "You've got to be philosophical about this performance and the guys are still confident. The effects of this period will last for three weeks at least. We've got some tired bodies in the dressing room.
"Taking into account we were 10 points down, it was a shame after our fightback that we only ended up drawing.
"We used up too much juice in the first half and our kicking was poor in the second, that hurt us."
Wakefield coach John Kear:
"My players were very fatigued having played too much rugby recently and they were a credit to the club and the league. "I think it's something the RFL have to take a look at.
"The period has taken a lot out of us and to be honest both sides looked drained. Jamie Rooney was out on his feet at the end.
"We could have won with his drop-goal chance but he was so fatigued even his kicking was affected."
