St Helens ran in nine tries as they returned to the top of the table with an effortless crushing of Salford.
Sean Long was first over the line with Matt Gidley, Francis Meli, Paul Wellens and Ade Gardner following him as Saints racked up a 26-0 half-time lead.
Maurie Fa'asavalu, James Roby and two from second row Mike Bennett completed Saints' scoring, with Wellens and Long sharing kicking duties.
Salford pulled one back when prop Andy Coley gathered his own kick to score.
St Helens coach Daniel Anderson:
"We are building our game up and playing with a degree of composure and our half-backs Sean Long and Leon Price are starting to find form.
"When you have players like James Roby and Keiron Cunningham getting on top it is easier for the rest of the players to enjoy playing alongside them.
"But you could see concentration levels were dropping towards the end."
Salford coach Karl Harrison:
"We've been a bit weak defensively recently and we have had a massive number of injuries.
"We're low on confidence and energy. Hopefully next week we'll get some bodies back and be able to kick on.
"They didn't play well today but we don't become a bad team overnight. We are playing young kids but hopefully we can get some players back."
