Saints set to make Sunday start

St Helens beat Hull FC in the 2006 Grand Final at Old Trafford
St Helens begin the defence of their Super League crown at Huddersfield on Sunday, 4 February (1905 GMT).

Saints kick off earlier than their Super League XII rivals because they face NRL kings Brisbane Broncos in the World Club Challenge on 23 February.

Hull KR will host Wakefield on 10 February while the first Hull derby is at the KC Stadium on Easter Monday.

An entire round of Super League games will be staged at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on 5 and 6 May.

The blockbusting derbies involving St Helens-Wigan and Leeds-Bradford will also feature in the Bank Holiday extravaganza in the Welsh capital.

The Millennium Magic weekend will mean a reduction in Super League fixtures from 28 to 27 and enable organisers to fit in an international weekend in late June.

Great Britain will play a mid-season Test, probably against New Zealand.
