 | MATCH SUMMARY Wakefield (24) 34 Tries: Solomona, Halpenny, Atkins, Griffin, Jeffries, White Goals: Rooney 5 Castleford (16) 26 Tries: Shenton, Fletcher, Pryce, Dyer, Bird Goals: Fletcher 3 | Wakefield held their nerve to edge past Castleford for a vital victory. The Tigers, with 38-year-old Brad Davis making his comeback, had a dream start with two tries inside six minutes. But they paid the price for their defensive frailty, with Ryan Atkins and Darrell Griffin both going over for Wakefield tries late in the first half. The home side strengthened their grip on the game with a Ben Jeffries try seven minutes into the second half as they recorded only their third win. Wakefield coach Tony Smith: "I have sat here five times this year and said we've played well and not got the points, but now we've not played well but we've got the two points. "Our completion rate was poor and we need to find that killer instinct and finish teams off. Overall, it's pleasing to get the two points and now we'll get ready for Hull." Castleford coach Terry Matterson: "We just came up with too many errors and gave away too many penalties. "There were a lot of positives from the game and, if we had had that effort against the Dragons last week, we would have won."
