A hat-trick from centre John Wilson helped earn the Catalans Dragons their second win over Castleford this season. The sides were level at 12-12 before the French side produced a second half scoring burst for their first Super League victory in six matches. Wilson, who had given the visitors an early lead, added two quick tries while Michael Dobson scored a 70-yard effort to make the game safe. Castleford's only reply was a last-minute try by Danny Nutley.
Castleford coach Terry Matterson: "I don't know what it is about Catalans that brings out the worst in us. "There was a period in the second half when we were really poor. "Both sides dropped a lot of ball, but the Catalans' defence was superior to ours." Catalans coach Mike Potter: "The conditions meant that the team making the least errors was probably going to win. "To get 40 points is fantastic for us and a big boost for our confidence."
