Hull racked up 40 points for the second match in succession as they thrashed Wakefield at the KC Stadium. First-half scores from Lee Radford, Yeaman (2) and Motu Tony gave Hull a 22-6 half-time lead, with David Solomona crossing for Wakefield.
Further scores from Shaun Briscoe and Richard Horne took Hull out of sight, but Wakefield did cause some problems as Paul White and Solomona both scored.
But the last word belonged to Hull as Yeaman went over for his hat-trick.
Hull laid down a marker early on, taking the lead in the third minute as Paul Cooke set up Radford.
Wakefield did not roll over though, and they hit back to force five successive sets with last-ditch Briscoe tackles saving two tries.
Motu Tony crosses for one of Hull's seven tries |
The home side showed Wakefield how to make the most of opportunities as Cooke sent Yeaman in for his first and Tony dived over from dummy-half.
Solomona got Wakefield's first try in the left corner, but a Yeaman interception shortly after reinforced Hull's dominance with a 22-6 half-time scoreline.
Briscoe scored early in the second half and Horne followed it up soon after.
Wakefield woke up, as Solomona claimed his second and White added their third in quick succession.
But a late flourish from Danny Brough and Sid Domic allowed Yeaman to cross for his hat-trick try late on.
Hull coach John Kear: "The defence was outstanding - it's all that we've practised, worked upon and talked about.
"It was a period of adversity and my players responded to it brilliantly.
"It was a true test of their character and the players all passed it with flying colours."
Wakefield coach Tony Smith: "I'm really disappointed with the performance - our execution was nowhere near as good as last week.
"We looked lethargic. I don't know whether the performance against Bradford took a lot out of us but we definitely weren't at the races.
"We let three tries in down our right side in the first half and some more soft tries so we're disappointed."
