Rhinos star McGuire pens new deal
Danny McGuire
McGuire touches down in the recent World Club Challenge win over Canterbury
Great Britain half-back Danny McGuire has signed a new contract with Leeds, effectively ending rumours the player could be tempted into switching codes.

There were fears McGuire might follow Wigan captain Andy Farrell in considering a move to rugby union.

But the two-year extension ties the 22-year-old to Headingley until 2009.

"It's great to know he wants to stay, not only at Leeds but also in league and Super League," Rhinos coach Tony Smith told the Yorkshire Evening Post.
