Widnes coach Neil Kelly admits he fears for his job after Monday's humiliating 70-4 defeat at Hull. It was the club's worst result since its foundation more than 100 years ago.
Kelly, who brought all his players in for training on Tuesday, admitted: "You've just suffered a record defeat, you've got to be worried.
"I'm still out of contract at the end of the year and I'm not expecting them to hand me something this week. But we have have had discussions."
Kelly added: "I think the club would like to see Widnes win enough points to be out of danger. Both parties are comfortable with the situation."
Widnes are third from bottom of the Super League table with only six points after nine defeats this season.
