Hull handed Widnes their heaviest defeat ever as they scored 12 tries at the KC Stadium. Nine different players ran in tries for high-flying Hull, with Richie Barnett Jnr and Shaun Briscoe both grabbing two tries apiece.
Paul Cooke kicked 11 goals to top score with 22 points.
A rare lapse in Hull's concentration led to Widnes claiming a consolation try when Simon Finnigan crossed 12 minutes from time.
Hull had the talismanic Jason Smith making his first appearance of the season after a partial shoulder reconstruction and they soon took the lead through Barnett Jnr.
Chris Chester added a second before full-back Briscoe was twice involved as Hull added a superb third try through Smith.
Rampant Hull added two more tries through Shayne McMenemy and Barnett Jnr before the break and there was no respite for Widnes after the break.
Hull increased their lead straight after the restart when Briscoe raced clear and, after Peter Lupton had scored with ease, Briscoe grabbed his second.

Chester's try brought up the half-century and although Finnigan grabbed a consolation score for Widnes, further scores from Horne, Colin Best and Kirk Yeaman left the visitors well beaten. Cooke had a fine afternoon with the boot, landing 11 goals from 13 attempts.
Widnes coach Neil Kelly laid into his players after the game.
"There are some players in that dressing room earning money by false pretences," said Kelly.
"I don't know whether we need to call the police in but it's almost fraud.
"I don't mind losing, or even getting beat 70-4, if we have given 100% and were unlucky. But I am ashamed of what's happened."
Hull boss Shaun McRae was pleased to have avenged the Easter loss to Widnes.
"We learnt from the last time we played this side. Today's performance was first class," he said.
"The important thing is to make sure our performance next week is as good and the week after that as good again.
"We now have 16 points out of 22 and that is a good ratio. You could say we are halfway to the play-offs but there is a lot of rugby league to come."
