Saracens snare McAvoy
McAvoy was frustrated by the lack of first-team opportunities at Bradford

Great Britain rugby league international Nathan McAvoy has signed for top union side Saracens.

The Bradford Bulls centre follows in the footsteps of Jason Robinson, Henry Paul and Iestyn Harris by switching to the rival code.

"Saracens is a club with a wealth of talent and a great atmosphere and I'm confident that I'll settle in well," McAvoy told the club's website.

"I don't expect the switch to be easy. I think the most difficult thing that I'll have to adjust to will be ball retention in contact and recycling it."

McAvoy, who has joined Saracens until 2005, is currently in Australia with the England Sevens team ahead of this weekend's IRB tournament in Brisbane.
