Just 24 hours after he was named in the Wales squad for November's clash with New Zealand, the 28-year-old has been told he has no future at the Shay. "Karle Hammond has not attended training for three weeks," said coach Steve Linnane. "We are in negotiations with his management about the termination of his contract."
Meanwhile, the Blue Sox look set to conclude a loan deal with Leeds Rhinos second-rower Jason Netherton. The 19-year-old could feature against St Helens at Knowsley Road on Friday night. "It is a great chance for Jason," said Linnane.
