Three days after losing winger Lote Tuqiri to rugby union, the Broncos announced that Carroll will re-join a club with which he won three league titles - in 1997, 1998 and 2000. "These past two years have been a great experience, but I can't wait to get back with the Broncos," said Carroll. "The offer Leeds made me two years ago was just too good to turn down, but at the time I promised (Broncos coach) Wayne Bennett two things - that I would never play against the Broncos and that one day I would return." Carroll joined the Broncos in 1994, playing the first of 97 first-grade matches in 1996. He played eight State of Origin matches for Queensland and represented New Zealand in the 2000 World Cup, where he scored a try in a losing cause in the final against Australia. | Top Super League stories now: Links to more Super League stories are at the foot of the page. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
