Coach quits Wakefield
Peter Roe
Wakefield have won only three times this season
Peter Roe has quit as coach of Super League side Wakefield Trinity Wildcats after the club refused to offer him a contract for next season.

Roe decided to leave his post immediately and Wakefield expect to anounce a successor in the next few days.

Chief executive Diane Rogerson said: "We would like to thank Peter for the hard work and commitment he has shown to the club during his time with us and wish him every success in the future.

"His behaviour both as a person and as a coach has been exemplary and we wish him well."

Wakefield are bottom of the league with just three wins all season, after narrowly avoiding relegation last year.

Roe coached Barrow, Halifax, Keighley and Swinton before guiding Featherstone to fifth place in the Northern Ford Premiership last season.

He took over at Belle Vue after John Harbin chose to step down at the end of last season.
