Civoniceva backs Aussie changes
Petero Civoniceva
Civoniceva is not concerned by Australia's changes
Australia prop Petero Civoniceva is confident the Kangaroos' new-look line-up can handle Great Britain in Saturday's Tri-Nations clash in Sydney.

Coach Ricky Stuart has made five changes, with Willie Mason back from injury and starts for Ben Hornby, Shaun Berrigan, Jamie Lyon and Brent Tate.

And Civoniceva insists there is no risk in blooding fresh players after Australia won their first two matches.

"It's the right time to give these guys opportunities," said Civoniceva.

"I don't think [it's a risk] when you look at the quality of players that are coming in.

"I think the coaching staff needs to look at all their options and, especially going into a final, you want to know you've got your best team out there.

I'm sure Adrian Morley will have their boys all fired up

"Ben Hornby coming in will certainly change things up a bit and we've got Brent Tate on the wing. These guys have got a lot of experience in the NRL and at representative level, so I'm sure they won't have any problems."

Despite suggestions that Great Britain could be outclassed by the Kangaroos following their opening defeat by New Zealand, Civoniceva insists it will be a tough contest.

"I have a lot of respect for them and their players," said Civoniceva.

"I know what to expect from past experiences playing against them and I know they'll be very proud men walking out at the Sydney football stadium on Saturday night.

"I know the English players are very passionate and it's going to be a great experience for them playing on our home soil. I know nothing will change in terms of their aggression on the field, and we're looking forward to it.

"It's going to be a great battle up front, I can't wait. I know last time we took the English on, it was a very physical encounter. I'm sure Adrian Morley will have their boys all fired up and, as a pack, we can't wait to get out there.

"I suppose whoever wins the battle up front will make it a lot easier for their playmakers."
