Phil Clarke is to quit as Great Britain team manager with immediate effect after five years in the job. Clarke, a former Lions international, became part of the GB set-up in 2001 and was involved behind the scenes for the 2004 and 2005 Tri-Nations Series.
Richard Lewis, the Rugby Football League's executive chairman, praised Clarke for his "tremendous hard work and considerable commitment".
Clarke played club rugby for Wigan and leading NRL side Sydney Roosters.
