Clockwatch: Australia v N Zealand
All the action as New Zealand stun Australia 24-0 in the Tri-Nations final at Elland Road.

80 mins: The hooter goes. It's game over and New Zealand have pulled off a massive surprise to win the Tri-Nations in a remarkably one-sided final. Their players are going crazy out on the field in their celebrations.

79 mins: Australia are desperately trying to avoid walking off the park without a score. Craig Gower is this time the man who messes up for the world champions. He lets the ball slip out of his hand and forward. Surely the last chance for Australia to score a point has gone.

78 mins: It's been 50 years since New Zealand have beaten Australia in a Test series. That's going to change in the next couple of minutes. The New Zealand squad and coaching staff are now mobbing the touchline in anticipation of the celebrations.

76 mins: For the first time in what seems an age, Anthony Minichiello sends the Australian runners charging forward. It looks like a score's coming up but Ben Kennedy produces an atrocious knock-on. It's Australia's 19th error of the night and it brings a sarcastic cheer form the crowd.

74 mins: Australia hang off New Zealand as the attacks are fired in. Ali Lauitiiti looks the most potent threat on this occasion. But he's two burrowing breaks come to nothing when Australia get possession back close to their try line.

72 mins: Danny Bauderus tries to be clever by flipping the ball between his legs. All it results in is Australia losing the ball once more.

70 mins: Motu Tony can't quite force his way through for a try. He is mobbed by Australian defenders. But then Paul Whatuira sends Jake Webster into the corner. Webster's celebrations are cut short - the referee calls a forward pass... although only just.

68 mins: Ryles looks at a loss to explain his side's latest error. He tries to dart inside to take a pop-up pass but all he can muster is a woeful knock-on.

66 mins: Jones tries to pile further misery on Australia with an attempted drop goal. It misses the target and Australia regain possession.

64 mins: Australia enjoy a rare moment of creativity when Ryles chips nicely along the ground. Sadly for him, all hope of getting back into this match has gone from his team-mates and none of them chase the ball.

62 mins: Nigel Vagana is grimacing on the turf after landing awkwardly on his ankle. He doesn't look all that capable of carrying on in this match.

61 mins: Australia have some respite in the onslaught as a couple of players receive some medical attention. It gives the crowd an opportunity to unleash a Mexican wave.

59 mins: PENALTY Australia 0-24 New Zealand
Jones sets up his tee for his latest attempt on goal. He takes his time and the wait's worthwhile - over it sails.

58 mins: It's been 20 years since Australia last failed to score a single point in a Test match. At the moment, though, they're not looking massively like troubling New Zealand's try line.

56 mins: Australia win a much-needed penalty after an illegal tackle. Jason Ryles takes it quickly to launch their bid for their first points of the night. But they fluff it almost immediately.

52 mins: TRY Australia 0-22 New Zealand Things are going from bad to worse for Australia as Brent Webb's score puts New Zealand even further ahead. Some brilliant hands give the full-back all the space he needs to burst through two tackles.

Stacey Jones adds the extras.

51 mins: Ben Kennedy knocks on, just as Australia look to be building up some momentum. Australia are having a collective shocker.

48 mins: New Zealand work their way back down the other end, and the Kiwis look very solid. With a 16-0 lead, they are understandably keeping it simple.

45 mins: Australia are desperatrely unlucky as Trent Barrett's reach for the line is just short. He knocks the ball on and another chance goes begging for the Kangaroos.

43 mins: New Zealand concede a penalty, but from Australia's first tackle the ball goes loose and Stacey Jones grabs it. The ball goes wide quickly and it's another dangerous Kiwi attack.

41 mins: New Zealand, 40 minutes away from a historic victory, get the second half underway.

HALF-TIME: Australia 0-16 New Zealand

40 mins: Willie Mason knocks on as Australia try to run out of defence. The Kangaroos look shell-shocked as the referee blows up for half-time.

38 mins: PENALTY Australia 0-16 New Zealand
Stacey Jones again extends his side's lead with a straightforward kick. Referee Steve Ganson is penalising Australia repeatedly at the tackle. This time it was Jason Ryles at fault.

35 mins: PENALTY Australia 0-14 New Zealand
Nothing is going right for Australia. They cough up possession in midfield and Shontayne Hape grabs the ball. Roy Asotasi's drive up the middle gets them in range and the penalty - against Willie Mason - is inevitable.

Stacey Jones makes no mistake with the kick.

31 mins: Australia win a penalty after David Kidwell holds down in the tackle. But two tackles later Craig Gower's fumble allows Brent Webb to snaffle up the loose ball.

29 mins: Manu Vatuvei knocks on as he scissors with Clinton Toopi with a fourth Kiwi try looking on the cards.

28 mins: New Zealand are going from strength to strength. A kick along the floor from Nigel Vagana gives Anthony Minichiello no choice but to run it out, giving the Kiwis another set.

26 mins: TRY Australia 0-12 New Zealand
It's all New Zealand at the moment. From the resultant scrum, New Zealand work the ball wide to Stacey Jones who puts up a chip into the corner.

Manu Vatuvei gets up above Brent Tate and uses his strength to wrestle the ball from him and touch down. Jones misses his third conversion.

24 mins: Australia look shaken, and Ben Kennedy knocks on while playing the ball deep in his own half to hand possession back to the Kiwis.

19 mins: TRY Australia 0-8 New Zealand
New Zealand are clearly fired up and extend their lead through Manu Vatuvei's try out wide on the left.

Simple hands gets the ball out wide and hesitation from Brent Tate is punished as Vatuvei slides in with a good finish. Jones misses the tricky conversion.

18 mins: Jason Ryles is dragged down just short of the line. From the play-the-ball, New Zealand's David Kidwell intercepts and goes 60m before being stopped by a huge Brent Tate tackle.

Tate has another go and concedes a penalty which infuriates Kidwell and a huge brawl is sparked off taking some time to bring under control.

17 mins: Trent Barrett is taken out late by a bad late challenge from Paul Rauhihi and the incident is put on report.

Australia force an extra set with Brent Webb having to ground the ball in-goal.

13 mins: Craig Gower's half-break leads to a penalty 40m out after Ruben Wiki has a second stab at the tackle.

10 mins: The Kangaroos are starting to dominate possession with the offloads stretching the Kiwi defence.

A delicate Trent Barrett chip finds Brent Tate out wide but the winger is put into touch by more enthusiastic defence.

6 mins: Australia launch a dangerous attack down the left, but outstanding New Zealand defence sees Matt King dragged over the touchline by five tacklers.

3 mins: TRY Australia 0-4 New Zealand
A steepling up-and-under from Stacey Jones is strongly contested by Jake Webster as Matt King struggles.

Paul Whatuira latches onto the loose ball and, after checking with the video referee, the try is awarded to give the Kiwis the perfect start.

Jones misses the conversion.

1818:Australia get the game underway and Ruben Wiki is straight into the action.

1816: The national anthems are followed by a ferocious-looking haka from the New Zealand team.

1810: Ruben Wiki - winning his 50th cap - leads New Zealand out onto the pitch at Elland Road. There are plenty of gaps in the stadium with organisers reporting that around 25,000 tickets have been sold for the 40,000 -capacity ground.

The British fans in the ground do seem to be behind the underdog Kiwis though.

Southern hemisphere rivals Australia and New Zealand go head-to-head for the third time in six weeks as the Tri-Nations tournament reaches its conclusion.

New Zealand have sprung a surprise with the selection of Bradford centre Shontayne Hape at loose forward, with Louis Anderson in the second row.

Australia bring Steve Price back on the bench and keep faith with Craig Gower at scrum-half.

Both teams are worried about the cold conditions in Leeds with Australia reportedly ordering sets of thermal vests and gloves to help ward off the freezing temperatures.
