Long scored one of Saints' nine tries against Hull KR |
Acting St Helens captain Sean Long anticipates a "tough" challenge from Huddersfield in the Powergen Challenge Cup final at Twickenham on 26 August. Saints are aiming to match Bradford's double-winning feat of 2003 after reaching their sixth final in 11 years.
The Super League leaders are favourites to record a third Cup win in six years.
But Long, superb in Saints' semi-final win over Hull KR, said: "Huddersfield have been a bit of a bogey side for us. It will be a tough final."
Saints squeezed home 18-16 in the two sides' first Super League meeting this season at the Giants' Galpharm Stadium in February.
But Huddersfield ended Saints' 12-match unbeaten start to this season with a 19-16 home victory in May.
The two meet again this Friday at Knowsley Road, a dress rehearsal for next month's final clash.
The Giants will be aiming to lift the Challenge Cup for the first time since they beat Saints at Wembley in 1953, after shocking Leeds in Sunday's semi-final.
"It's a superb feeling," said vice-captain Brad Drew, man of the match in the 30-12 victory.
"It means so much to the club, which hasn't been in big occasions like this for a long time.
"But now we've got to concentrate on making the top six in Super League. That's our next goal."
Huddersfield are currently in seventh place, two points off a play-off place, and six points clear of bottom side Wakefield.
