St Helens scrum-half Sean Long will be out of action for two months after breaking a wrist in training. The injury occurred on Friday in the build-up to Sunday's Powergen Challenge Cup quarter-final against Wigan.
The Great Britain international is a doubt for the 27 August final at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff - should Saints get that far.
He will also miss at least seven Super League games as St Helens continue their pursuit of leaders Leeds.
