Blacklock (left) failed to hold down a regular place with NSW |
Nathan Blacklock has left rugby union and returned to rugby league with the St George-Illawarra Dragons. The winger joined St George on Wednesday, less than a week after leaving New South Wales Waratahs midway through a two-year contract.
Blacklock walked out on St George halfway through last season to switch codes, but failed to secure a regular place with the Waratahs in Super 12.
They released him from his contract and St George welcomed him back with open arms.
"We are happy to welcome Nathan Blacklock back at the Dragons even though he left us in mid-season last year," said St George chief executive Peter Doust.
Blacklock said he was very grateful to the club for welcoming him back to the 13-man code.
"I am very excited about playing rugby league again," Blacklock said.
"It's where my heart is. I feel like I've come home and I can't wait to play this weekend. I won't let anyone down."
