Bradford book final spot
Try scorers Paul Deacon and Lee Radford celebrate Bradford's win
Bradford ran in six tries
Bradford 36-22 Wigan

Bradford proved too strong for injury-hit Wigan as they stormed into the Powergen Challenge Cup final.

The Bulls ran in four second half tries to overhaul a 16-12 deficit and set up a showdown with West Yorkshire rivals Leeds at the Millennium Stadium on 26 April.

Wigan struggled without injured quartet Andy Farrell, Mick Cassidy, Jamie Ainscough and Brett Dallas in their first semi-final defeat for 35 years.

But the Warriors lived up to their name, rallying from 12-2 down to a take a 16-12 half-time lead when Terry Newton and Danny Sculthorpe touched down.

Bradford had scored the first try of the match through James Lowes on 18 minutes.

Lowes was also the provider for the Bulls' second try, with Lee Radford rewarded for his persistence and determination.

Despite Wigan's comeback, Bradford were level within four minutes of the re-start when centre Shontayne Hape took a pass from full-back Michael Withers and crossed at the corner.

Deacon's magnificent touchline conversion edged the Bulls back in front and they proceeded to re-assert their authority with two further tries in a devastating four-minute burst.

First Radford claimed his second try of the match - doubling his tally for the season - following good running by Jamie Peacock and Lowes.

Then Deacon started and finished Bradford's best handling move of the match to go over for his side's fifth try.

Winger Tevita Vaikona finished strongly with 15 minutes to go after Robbie Paul and Leon Pryce had combined effectively.

Deacon landed all six conversions, but missed the chance to extend the Bulls' lead by missing two long-range penalties.

Brian Carney replied for Wigan late on but it was too late to deny Bradford a date with Leeds at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium.
