Farrell has already missed four Super League games this season |
Wigan are resigned to being without captain Andy Farrell for their Powergen Challenge Cup semi-final against Bradford on 13 April. Farrell has missed his side's last five matches after injuring his knee in the opening Super League match of the season, but had hoped to return for the big game against the Bulls.
"He's had a bit of a setback," said Wigan coach Stuart Raper.
"It's taking longer than we thought so he's been back to the specialist.
"It's hard to tell when he'll be back - he's very doubtful for the semi-final, if no chance at all."
Wigan have made a stuttering start to the season, losing two of their four Super League matches, but Raper refused to blame the absence Farrell.
"You are always going to miss your captain, but we can't use it as an excuse," he said.
"Every week I've been very comfortable with the players I've selected. I've shown faith in them, and they've got to come up and do a job."
