Kieran Foran to miss Four Nations with shoulder injury

New Zealand stand-off Kieran Foran has been ruled out of the Four Nations series with a shoulder injury.

Foran is set to undergo surgery this week after suffering a muscle tear in his left shoulder in last week's defeat by Canterbury.

He played with the aid of pain-killers in the Eagles' play-off defeat to St George Illawarra on Sunday.

The 20-year-old follows his Manly Sea Eagles team-mate Steve Matai in being ruled out of the tournament.

Matai was handed a seven-match ban for a reckless high tackle.

And New Zealand continue to have doubts over the fitness of captain Benji Marshall (knee) and forward Frank Pritchard (hamstring).
