Teenager Kieran Foran will make his debut for New Zealand in Saturday's Four Nations game against England. The 19-year-old from Manly Sea Eagles comes in at centre for his injured club-mate Steve Matai. He got the nod ahead of Krisnan Inu after coach Stephen Kearney decided against moving St Helens-bound Iosia Soliola from the second row. Prop Jeff Lima has recovered from a calf injury to replace Greg Eastwood on the bench. Eastwood, who will be playing with the Leeds Rhinos next season, broke a bone in his wrist in his wrist in last weekend's 62-12 victory over France and will miss the remainder of the tournament. Matai suffered internal bleeding in his eye after being injured in a tackle against France but he could still be fit for the final should the Kiwis qualify.  | 606: DEBATE |
Foran, the youngest member of the Kiwis' Four Nations squad, made his NRL debut this year, scoring six tries in his nine appearances. "We had some options in terms of a replacement for Steve (Matai) but when we looked at it, Kieran is the player we believe best suits our needs for this game," said Kearney. "He's a confident young player who has been working really hard ever since we came into camp and he certainly deserves this chance. "We've been thrilled with the way our new players have handled themselves when given their chance to play for the Kiwis over the last few weeks and we have great confidence in Kieran doing the same. "He'll certainly bring a lot of energy and ability into the side for Saturday night's game."
