McCormack is excited about a return to the Halton Stadium |
Barrow Raiders boss Steve McCormack has revealed he expects a derby-style encounter when his side face Widnes in the Northern Rail Cup on Thursday. Coach McCormack returns to a club he coached for four seasons, while skipper Gary Broadbent and Paul Noone are also former Vikings staff. "They'll be waiting for us," McCormack told BBC Radio Cumbria. "With the history between the two teams, it'll be a cracking game and we're looking forward to it." McCormack added: "We'll be ready for Widnes as well." Raiders were beaten by Widnes in the 2009 final, but recovered to win both the Championship league and Grand Final last season. Meanwhile reports suggest that Liam Campbell and Nathan Mossop are to be offered new deals to keep them at Craven Park.
